For those living near or traveling around Edmonds, WA on Saturday, January 19th -- sign up for Rick Steves Travel Festival. Rick Steves writes a variety of travel guides, sells travel gear, and has his own podcasts and has hosted various travel shows. His Rick Steves' Rome guidebook was indispensable on our trip in 2006 and was one of the few guides that had extensive information on staying in a convent. (which we did, see the post about it here).
Rick will be hosting three seminars at the Edmonds Center for the Arts and his staff of travel guides will be doing seven others. Best of all, it's free! Advance registration is required, so sign up now.
He'll be hosting his first ever, "Travel as a Political Act." In addition, he'll be speaking on European Travel Skills and Italy. Other classes, include the popular Packing Light & Right, European Art and History and classes on France, Ireland, Spain-Portugal, Eastern Europe, Great Britain and Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Travel Festival classes will run from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Edmonds Center for the Arts and the Edmonds Theater in downtown Edmonds. For more information, sign-up form, and directions, click here.
